NOT if the water is the secret of relieving thirst drinks good for digestion and regulate blood circulation. However, recent discoveries mentioned, the milk is better than plain water removes the thirst.
Scientists claim, that children who are hungry do not have to drink water after PE or physical education lessons. But instead, they should have a glass of milk.
Researchers at McMaster University said, a white object such as milk is way more effective against dehydration in children who are active in sports. Milk is better to replace H20 or water.
Lead researcher Brian Timmons said, "Children get dehydrated during exercise, and it is very important they get enough flui ds, especially before going into the second round of the game. Milk is better rather than sports drinks or water as a source of high-quality protein, carbohydrates, calcium and electrolytes. "
He added, milk replaces sodium lost in sweat and helps the body retain fluid better. Milk also provides protein needed by the children for muscle development and growth, where it is not found in other drinks. So that was quoted from Dailymail , Sunday (08/21/2011).
The study involved children aged 8 to 10 years who work out at room temperate, then received a drink and measured levels of hydration.
Assistant Professor Timmons, at Michael G DeGroote School of Medicine said, children and active adults usually do not drink enough to stay hydrated during exercise. This means they often have a period of "hydration harmful" when they begin the next period of training.
He said that one percent dehydration can cause up to 15 perce nt decrease in performance, with increased heart rate, core temperature , and less ability to keep going.
more significant Dehydration comes with an increased risk of diseases associated with body condition like heat stroke. However, the research was funded by the Dairy Farmers of Canada, who may or may not have a specific purpose.
